Arkansas commit Cole Gibler (2024, Blue Springs, Mo.) threw a gem to begin the last pool play game for the Royals Scout Team 2024. The 6-foot, 175-pound left-hander went five innings, only allowing two hits and striking out ten. The fastball wasn’t overpowering, living in the low-80s but it had some late arm-side run which kept it off the barrels of opposing batters. The curveball showed 1-7 shape and projects nicely as a put away pitch. Gibler showed the ability to go to both arm side and glove side with both the heater and the breaking ball. Just an overall impressive performance out of the Blue Springs native as he always seemed to be in command and only got in trouble once and worked out of it giving up only one run.
