18u WWBA Scout Notes: Day 1

Ariston Veasey (2024, Tyrone, Ga.) has continued to show huge two-way upside. He put together a solid outing in Friday night’s action on the mound and followed it up with a good day at the plate on Saturday. The swing is short with a simple approach and good balance. The hands are loose and he gets the barrel through the zone quickly and creates loft in the stroke. On the mound on Friday he was up to 90 mph and the arm plays from behind the plate as well with short arm action and quick transfers which can shut down a running game. He finished up the day going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI in the victory. Extremely high upside for the Georgia commit both on the mound and behind the plate.
