CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Sporting Kansas City and Perfect Game, the world’s largest youth baseball and softball platform and scouting service, today announced a new long-term partnership that will bring Perfect Game amateur baseball and softball tournaments, showcases and events to Central Bank Sporting Complex in Platte County, Missouri.

“We couldn’t be more excited to announce our partnership with Perfect Game as our baseball and softball event provider at Central Bank Sporting Complex,” said Dan Popik, Sporting KC Vice President of Youth Business Development. “Perfect Game is the premier provider of amateur baseball and softball events in the Midwest, and we look forward to hosting their high-quality tournaments and showcase events at Central Bank Sporting Complex beginning this fall. This is a fantastic opportunity for Northland baseball and softball players to compete in their backyard at top-level competitions.”

Perfect Game will be the anchor baseball and softball events tenant at Central Bank Sporting Complex. The complex, slated to open in early September, will feature ten world-class, multi-sport turf fields that can be converted into eight fields for baseball and softball play. All fields will be lighted with convenient parking and on-site amenities, including playgrounds, fieldhouse, restrooms and concessions.

“We are thrilled to be working alongside Sporting Kansas City to bring Perfect Game’s best-in-class youth baseball and softball activities and events to the Northland,” said Chris Browne, Midwest Regional Director at Perfect Game. “Providing a high-quality facility in North Kansas City for youth and high school fastpitch and baseball teams to play games opens up new opportunities for both sports to grow, not just in the Northland but also surrounding regions. We are looking forward to hosting athletes and their families at the Central Bank Sporting Complex.”

Perfect Game hosts more than 8,600 events and more than 300,000 youth baseball and softball games a year. More than 1,600 young athletes have gone on to play Major League Baseball after appearing in Perfect Game events during their amateur years. Since 2003, 13,324 Perfect Game alumni have been selected in the MLB first-year, amateur player draft. During the 2021 MLB draft, all 36 players selected on the first day (29 first round picks, one compensation pick and six competitive balance round A picks) played in Perfect Game events, and 95-percent of all players chosen in the 2021 draft are former Perfect Game participants.

Perfect Game’s fall schedule will be released in the coming weeks, including the full list of tournaments that will be played at Central Bank Sporting Complex. Tournaments range from those open to all ages and divisions to elite-level events that will welcome some of the top players and teams from across the nation to the Kansas City area. The schedule can be viewed at PerfectGame.org.

Beginning this September, Central Bank Sporting Complex is available to rent for baseball or softball practices during the week and select times and dates on the weekend.
