What Happened: Mississippi State was able to bounce back from an opening night loss in the series to win the next two and win the SEC series 2-1. This series win is huge for Coach Lemonis and his club as it puts them two games ahead of the pack at 6-12 in the conference as we move into the last month of the season and start to look forward to the SEC tournament. It was the ability to come up with some timely long balls that allowed the offense to put up enough run support for the Bulldogs pitching staff. Brad Cumbest, Hunter Hines, and Kellum Clark all had multiple-home run weekends while hitting in the second half of the order as State saw good production up and down the lineup. On the mound the pitching staff was good enough and did a nice job of attacking hitters in the zone and minimizing damage by not allowing free passes.  Out of the bullpen, Jackson Fristoe, KC Hunt and Pico Kohn all were able to make multiple appearances.
