11u Tourney All-American Team

With 2021 coming to a close, we wrap up our Tournament All-American Teams with the 11u/Class of 2028 group. The group of players included below, includes 22 players that participated in this year’s PG Select Festival. There is loads of talent amongst this group and it gives us a glimpse into the future as we continue to grow our youth platform across the country.

This group amassed 571 All-Tournament selections, led by Dylan Mercado with 18 nods and Ander Elorriaga at 16. 2021 Tournament Player of the Year Carter Moon checks in with 15 All-Tournament selections, tied with teammate Dexter McCleon Jr. Players from 12 different states were selected onto either first or second teams. Offense was the reoccurring theme, as not one hitter hit under .440 for the 2021 season and they slugged over 400 home runs as a group.



The numbers on both sides of the ball produced by the ultra-talented Moon are almost video game-like, as the left-handed hitter hit .614 during the 2021 season. He accumulated 108 hits in his 217 plate appearances, and more than half of his hits (61) went for extra bases. He scored 119 runs, while driving in 79 of his own and swiped 72 bags along the way and continued to show the impact only he can make on a game in a multitude of ways. Add in 91 punchouts across his 47 1/3 innings pitched, and it is easy to see why he is our 2021 Tournament Player of the Year.

We move onto the Tournament Pitcher of the Year next with Florida native Konnor Briggs. The long, lean left-hander struck out a whopping 61 hitters in his 35 1/3 innings of work and walked just 15. The 4:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio for such a young pitcher is a combination of him being able to coordinate his body so well at such a young age. He worked to a 0.93 WHIP throughout his body of work, allowed just 18 hits and allowed just 3 earned runs. He will surely be exciting to watch grow over the course of his career, and we look forward to it.
