2021 Pitcher/Catcher Showcase
Mason Koch is a 2022 RHP/ with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Omaha, NE who attends Millard West. Long and lanky frame with room to fill and more physical development to come. Primary right-handed pitcher, starts with a slow and controlled operation and then explodes forward at release. Clean and fluid arm action with a short stroke, shows advanced arm speed, ball jumps out of the hand. Throws a full mix, including a slider with late bite and 10/5 shape, it takes off across the plate at the last second. Throws a slower, more vertical curveball that he can add and subtract from. The changeup is a weapon for him, as it floats across the plate and has late fade, does a good job of keeping his arm speed consistent with every pitch. Very smooth delivery and movements overall, repeats them perfectly each time. Great feel for each pitch in his repertoire and had a dominant showing, nice projection moving forward. Excellent student. Named to the 2021 Pitcher/Catcher Showcase Top Prospect List.
