Matthew Dallas is a 2023 LHP/1B with a 6-5 180 lb. frame from Arlington, TN who attends Briarcrest Christian. Tall, lean, and long with tons of projection to frame. Begins delivery with a leg lift to core level and uses a full arm stroke, releasing from a high-3/4 slot. Provides some deception, hiding the ball well while showing good body control. Fastball topped at 92 mph and commanded it well. Mixed all of his pitches well, displaying excellent feel to spin with two separate breaking balls. Threw a softer curveball with good depth to it. Used slider away effectively to get swing-and-miss versus left-handed hitters. Mixed in a changeup to round out a strong four-pitch mix, using it to fade away versus righties. Projection, full repertoire, feel to sequence, and the ceiling is significant. Great student. Verbal commitment to Tennessee.
