Yanluis Ortiz is a 2020 C/RHP/1B with a 5-11 205 lb. frame from Grapevine, TX who attends Southlake Carroll. Strong and compact build. Has a big arm behind the plate with plus carry, makes accurate throw with very good on line carry, can improve his release quickness, has improved his athleticism but will need to continue to work on his side to side agility. Right handed hitter, moves into contact well and gets extended out front, loose hands in his swing, easy tension free swing with some juice in the barrel, was timed up well and made consistent line drive contact, strength there for future power. Did not run at this event but has run down to 6.95 in the sixty previously. Good student, verbal commitment to Miami.
