Nicholas Griffin is a 2020 OF/LHP with a 6-4 175 lb. frame from Monticello, AR who attends Monticello. Tall and lean athletic build, lots of physical projection remaining. Two-way prospect. 6.83 runner, young actions through the ball in the outfield, shows good arm strength with more to come as he matures physically and learns to work through the ball better. Left handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance, gets his hips into his swing and has loose hands through contact, shows lift in his swing, pretty short to the ball for his size, how much stronger he can get will determine his ceiling as a hitter. High 3/4's arm slot on the mound from a long and wrapped arm action in back, stays balanced and on line well. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 91 mph early. Throws both a curveball and slider and the slider is a better present pitch with tight spin and biting action, threw a change up in warmups but not against hitters. Very good all around athlete who should continue to improve. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Arkansas.
