2022 Top Prospects

Michael Lorenzetti  RHP - 2022 - Bristol, CT
Iona

You aren't going to miss Lorenzetti as he steps on the mound as he already stands at a long and ultra-projectable 6-foot-7. Despite his size he's well coordinated on the mound and shows some real arm speed and whip, running his fastball up to 91 mph with big plane to it through the zone while mixing in a curveball.

Mitchel Szymczak  C - 2022 - Strongsville, OH
Lake Erie College

Szymczak impressed on both sides of the ball, especially behind the plate where his actions stood out, as did his arm strength (79 mph) and pop time (1.86), both of which were event bests. He has quick hands at the plate and repeats his swing well, showing a handle for the barrel which resulted in hard contact to all parts of the field.

Caleb Martinek  RHP - 2022 - Enfield, CT
Uncommitted

Martinek has a nice 6-2/190 body and a whippy and loose right arm. He worked very consistently in the 84-86 mph range with his fastball to go with an upper 70's true slider that he had plenty of confidence in.

Jerek Hobb  LHP - 2022 - Rotterdam, NY
Stony Brook

Hobb took to the mound to close things out for Purple and ran his fastball up to 84 mph from a deceptive lower 3/4 slot. Along with the fastball he also consistently landed a short slider for strikes and turned over a changeup in the upper-70s.

Terry Morrissey  OF - 2022 - Andover, MA
Saint Joseph’s College (Maine)

Morrissey had perhaps the smoothest swing at the event, a loose and well connected left handed swing that produced consistent line drive contact with flashes of gap to gap power. Adding more strength to his 6-0/175 frame could really boost his already high offensive potential.

Jean Nunez  SS - 2022 - New York, NY
Uncommitted

Nunez is a true switch-hitter and showed his bat speed and power from both sides of the plate during the games. He also has a strong infield arm at 87 mph and was up to 84 mph on the mound to go with a solid curveball.

William Waterbury  OF - 2022 - Oswego, NY
Uncommitted

Waterbury stands out for his long and loose 6-3/180 build and his physical projection. He has a strong right handed swing that creates lots of barrel whip and gap to gap power.

Pierson McGinnis  OF - 2022 - Montgomery, NY
Bard College

McGinnis best physical tool is his 6.68 speed in the sixty. That speed and athleticism is highlighted by a very sound fundamental grounding both offensively and defensively that plays up in games.

Luke Gaida  SS - 2022 - Westhampton, MA
Uncommitted

Gaida has a long and loose prototypical shortstop's build and very smooth actions on defense that will definitely play at the next level. The key to his development will be getting stronger to drive his future bat speed.

2023 Top Prospects

Cameron Grindle  RHP - 2023 - Mansfield, MA
Pittsburgh

Grindle was the first pitcher to tank the mound and he set the bar high, showing off a loose arm action with which he ran his fastball up to 89 mph with relative ease, filling the zone while comfortably working in the mid-80s. While he has a big arm, Grindle also swung it well from the right side with a numerous hard/loud barrels to the middle and pull side parts of the field.

Matthew Jackson  SS - 2023 - Staten Island, NY
Stony Brook

Jackson is a physical middle infielder out of New York who quickly made his impression felt with a blazing 6.56 60-yard dash. He's more than just a runner though as he put his big arm strength on display (87 mph across the diamond, 86 mph from the mound) as well as real strength in his hands from both sides of the plate, showing a well-rounded skillset.

Jake Klein  C - 2023 - Vernon, NJ
Sussex County CC

A primary catcher, Klein stood out both in drills and live action for his abilities behind the plate, particulalry with his arm strength and overall actions as he showed real carry on several throws down to second. He has a simple stroke at the plate and picked up a few knocks in game with a short stroke and strength in his hands.

Nic Frink  C - 2023 - Scarborough, ME
Quinnipiac

Frink did a little bit of everything and incorporated his physical strength well into all facets, showing fast hands at the plate and some real strength at impact, as evidenced by his event best 92 mph exit velo. He also jumped on the mound and was up to 84 mph, filling the strike zone while showing comfort landing his curveball for strikes as well.

Vik Vakati  SS - 2023 - Cromwell, CT
Quinnipiac

Vakati is a long and lean athlete with 6.92 speed in the sixty and a long and loose arm that registered 91 mph from the outfield and 84 mph from the infield. A primary middle infielder at present, Vakati's body and tools project best in the outfield looking forward. He had a great day at the plate on Sunday with three extra base hits.

Matthew Tabet  RHP - 2023 - Wilton, CT
Amherst College

Tabet enjoyed himself a solid, all around showcase and put together a big first day of the event. He found multiple barrels in live action (including a triple), threw 84 mph across the diamond, and even jumped on the mound where he topped out at 84 mph with 4 distinct pitches, all of which he pounded the zone with.

2024 Top Prospects

Scott LaMountain  1B - 2024 - Keeseville, NY
King University

LaMountain's best tool is his left handed power potential. He appears much stronger than his listed 5-11/170 build and drove the ball hard both in batting practice and in the games while showing plenty of barrel accuracy and intent.

2025 Top Prospects

Jibreel Long  RHP - 2025 - Harrisburg, PA
Uncommitted

Long is especially young for the 2025 class and already has a lively right arm. He topped out at 81 mph on his fastball with plenty of loose extension out front and good riding life. His best secondary pitch was a low 70's split fingered change up with lots of diving life.

Brady Ericson  LHP - 2025 - Brooklyn, CT
Uncommitted

Ericson stands out as a 6-5/190 youngster with nice overall athleticism for his size and age. He only topped out at 75 mph on the mound but repeated his delivery well and worked the strike zone well with his fastball and curveball.
