3- Maroon vs 5- White Highlights

Jarod Romero (2023 3B, Eagle Pass, TX) has looked strong on the mound. Big frame with whippy arm action. His fastball is firm and up to 83 MPH. Also has feel for a 72 MPH curveball. Hit a triple to RF at the plate and showed off good speed on the bases.

Colin Robson (2023 OF, Southlake, TX) has looked dominant in this game. He comes at hitters from a low arm slot and has good deception. He's struck out five in three innings and his fastball is up to 79 with life. Shows feel for a sweeper slider as well at 66.

Cameron Kokesh (2022 C, Roanoke, TX) roped a base hit early. Showed a good feel for the barrel and the swing is compact. Strong swing from the right side.

Frankie Alderete (2022 OF, Corpus Christi, TX) was sharp on the mound. Quick arm with a fluid delivery and ran his fastball up to 78 MPH. It looks faster out of his hand. Shows feel for a curveball at 68 MPH.

Pedro Taveras (2024 OF, Austin, TX) made an outstanding catch in RF in foul territory. Showed off impressive range and isn't afraid to leave his feet for a ball. Also has a strong arm that plays well in the outfield.


4- Navy vs 5- White Highlights

6/9/2021

Brock Butler (2022 3B, Checotah, OK) stroked an RBI double down the LF line to drive in a run early. He shows good feel for the barrel with quick bat speed. Also shows a good run tool and is an aggressive runner on the base paths.

Eli Hellmann (2023 SS, Georgetown, TX) has a fluid delivery on the mound is a natural strike thrower. His fastball has been up to 82 and pairs it with a good two-plane curveball at 68. Good athleticism on the mound and solid pitchability.

Jaden Barfield (2024 1B, Pearland, TX) has a good mix going on the mound. Shows a firm fastball that's sitting low 80s and has topped at 82 MPH. Pairs it was a nasty curveball that has nice depth and bite to it.

Brady Driver (2024 SS, Sulphur Springs, TX) has an electric arm on the mound. His fastball has been up sitting 86-87 and has topped at 88 MPH. He pairs it with a good slider at 76 MPH. Effortless arm action and should continue to fill out his frame.

Koltin Lebleu (2022 2B, Lake Charles, LA) stroked a deep double to left field. Shows good bat to ball skills and some quick bat speed. Lots of athleticism in the field.


3-Maroon vs 4-Navy Game Highlight

6/9/2021

Jarod Romero (2023, 3B, Eagle Pass, TX) opened up the game with a towering triple to deep RCF. At 6-foot-2 and 215 lbs he flashes the power potential the body holds down the line. He had a disciplined AB and did not miss his pitch to drive the other way. Shows some effort in the stroke with good body control and was not hesitant to extend the easy double to the next bag.

 

Eli Hellman (2023, SS, Georgetown, TX) is a very agile middle infielder who showed great range with a playable arm. He made a solid sliding play deep glove side that he made look easy. The footwork was there, and the transfer was smooth into a quick release. A lot to like about his feel for the position.

 

Cason Davenport (2023, RHP, Fort Worth, TX) is a strong framed athlete who showed a chance to progress on the mound as well as a hitter. He shows physical upside with a fluid arm and flashes good feel for pitchability. Up to 81 with the FB he disrupts timing well mixing in developing secondary with two different planes. The CB has good late bite while the SL has effective horizontal action.


1-Columbia Blue vs 2-Green Game Highlights

Elijah Dyke (2022 C, Canton, TX) has looked sharp on the mound. Fluid delivery with good arm speed. His fastball has been up to 84 MPH and he's generated lots of weak contact. Also flashes a good breaking ball at 70 MPH. His changeup is also impressive with some nice depth to it. Also looks very good at SS attacking plays and showing versatility in the arm with high IQ.

 

Adam Lindsey (2023 C, Fort Worth, TX) smoked a triple to deep LCF that one hopped the fence. Showed off solid balance and strength in his swing. Can really turn on a ball and do damage when he gets a fastball up in the zone.

 

Ethan McClain (2021 RHP, Roanoke, TX) presents great size and strength added to his versatility on the field. He barreled a well hit ball along with showing good life on the basepath and is remaining aggressive.

 

Rodney Haywood (2024, RHP, Duncanville, TX) showed a great feel for the zone and ran the fastball up to an easy 82 MPH with low-stress arm action that he repeats well. He maintains an uptempo pace attacking hitters early spinning a sharp breaking ball showing excellent two-plane mix holding nice late action on both, plenty more in the tank ahead of this interesting follow.

 

Cade Sorrell (2023, LHP, Highland Village, TX) is an athletic 6-foot-3 frame who showed great command for his pitches on both sides of the plate. He dominated with the fastball up to 84 displaying fine life over movement and has an advanced slider he throws for consistent strikes. Projectable pieces and electric stuff here with a good body to build on. 


Batting Practice Highlights

6/8/2021

Roman Cariaga (2024 C, Ovilla, TX) had one of the most impressive rounds of BP on the day. He has a simple toe tap pre pitch trigger and has quick hands. Compact swing with barrel control and was spraying hard liners all over the field. He had a high exit velocity of 82 MPH.

Ethan McClain (2021 RHP, Roanoke, TX) showed off some easy juice from the right side of the plate. He uses his lower half well into the swing and found the barrel frequently. His power played well to all fields.

Freddie Nolen IV (2023 3B, Fort Worth, TX) had plenty of raw power in his swing during BP. Active hands pre-pitch with a bat waggle before dropping the hands through the slot. Showed off plenty of strength in his balanced swing and was driving balls well to all fields.

Jordan Allen (2023 3B, Longview, TX) has nice natural loft in the barrel and showed some good juice to pullside. He had some of the loudest BP contact of anyone and kept the ball in the air. The bat says on plane well and shows good hip rotation throughout the swing.

Dasan Harris (2023 OF, Parker, TX) has a smooth left-handed swing. Quick bat speed with natural extension and gets the bat head out well with a recoil finish. Shows especially nice power to pullside and his batted balls show good backspin.

Cole Carter (2022 RHP, Flower Mound, TX) has a big leg kick and an arm bar pre pitch to try to generate power and he does it well. Lots of strength in this swing and good feel for the barrel. Hit some towering drives to centerfield. Good leverage in the swing to drive balls.

Jarod Romero (2023 3B, Eagle Pass, TX) has a heavy barrel and a naturally fluid swing that stays on plane well. His exit velocity was up to 90 MPH and is built to hit line drives. Has some quick bat speed and should continue to add power as he fills out.

Trevor Tachibana (2022 OF, Southlake, TX) has a compact swing and showed a nice feel to use the whole field. His BP round had a lot of loud contact and has a heavy barrel. The swing stays on a level bat plane and was able to incorporate his lower half well into the swing.


5 - White vs 4 - Navy Game Highlights

Cason Davenport (2023 SS, Fort Worth, TX) got the rally started with a double down the left field line. Has a strong athletic build. Also played well on defense today, showed good range and made some tough plays. Has a smooth hands, with a quick transfer and release. 

 

Brandon Oakes (2023 OF, Azle, TX) smashed the ball to the farthest part of the field for a triple. Hit the ball well all day, was patient and waited for his pitch and everything was hit hard on a line. Has a short compact swing with good bat speed. Has good pop for his slender frame, will continue to get stronger as he gets older.

 

Eli Hellmann (2023 SS, Georgetown, TX) hit the ball hard to left center for a double. Had a great at bat, battled until he got his pitch and smashed it. Was aggressive early on outside pitches, let the ball travel and hit it hard.  Also played good defense and made some great plays.

 

Colin Robson (2023 OF, Southlake, TX) hit the ball hard to right field, let the ball travel and hit it where it was pitched. Did a great job of staying through that ball. Also played great defense, showed good range and decent speed. Has a good first step, which allowed him to get to balls in the gap. His slender build will get stronger as he matures.


5 - White vs 3 - Maroon Game Highlights

Gavin Newborg (2024 OF, Seguin, TX) showed off his athleticism in the outfield and had gap to gap range. Newborg has great instincts and with a good first step allowing him to track down balls easily. Has a slender athletic build that will continue to get stronger as he gets older.

 

Dylan Darnall (2022 SS, Burleson, TX) has great range and good hands. He moves well laterally and made the tough plays look easy. Darnall is alert and always thinking the ahead, has a quick transfer and release and a great feel for shortstop. Veteran defender. 

 

Jarod Romero (2023 3B, Eagle Pass, TX) came up swinging, smashed the ball to left center for a stand-up triple, Romero had a solid frame, young build. He has a short compact swing with plus bat speed, raw pull side power. Will continue to get strong and he matures.    

 

Cameron Kokesh (2022 C, Roanoke, TX) swings the bat well. Had solid at bats all day, hit the ball hard every time. Has a short compact swing with gap to gap power. Kokesk had good discipline in the box and took advantage of what the pitchers were giving him. 

 

Jack Brinson (2022 RHP, Austin, TX) has a slender athletic build, runs well and is aggressive on the bases. He has a short compact swing with good weight transfer. Smashed the ball off the left center was wall for a triple, and then stole home on a passed ball. Also pitched well topping out at 84 MPH.

4 - Navy vs 3 - Maroon Game Highlights

6/8/2021

Cole Carter (2022 RHP, Flower Mound, TX) pitched three innings and had five strike outs. Carter came in attacking the hitters and created a lot of swing and misses. Worked a three-pitch mix, mainly used fastball slider but flashed his curveball. The TCU commit topped out at 89 MPH.

 

Trace Spann (2024 SS, Grandprarie, TX) showed off his athleticism and made some nice plays. Spann was shifted middle and used his speed to get to a blooper on the left field line. The very next play made a sweet backhand in the 5/6 hole and caught the runner trying to advance in a run down. 

 

Trevor Tachibana (2022 OF, Southlake, TX) came in and broke up the no hitter, hit a single to right center. Tachibana has a short compact swing, let the ball get deep and drove it to right center.

 

Payne Fontenot (2024 RHP, Colleyville, TX) came in throwing strikes, pitched two innings and had three strike outs and gave up one hit. Fontenont topped out at 80 MPH, worked a two-pitch mix that created a lot of swing and misses.

Will Rasmusson (2022 MIF, Colleyville, TX) did not waste any time came up swinging and belted a line drive off the left center wall. There is great bat speed and pull side power. Has great strength for his size.

 

Drew Hallead (2023 SS, Austin, TX) is a hustler, covered some ground at shortstop today and made some great plays. Dove for a ball deep in the 5/6 hole to keep the runner from advancing. Has a slender build, but will continue to get stronger as he gets older. 

 

Roman Cariaga (2024 C, Ovilla, TX) showed off his cannon from behind the dish. Made firm accurate throws down to second. Has a quick transition and good feet, hosed a runner out at third trying to steal. Has a slender athletic build, that will continue to get stronger as he gets older. 

 

Nolan Foster (2022 RHP, McKinney, TX) lit up the radar gun topping out at 89 MPH. Pitched 3 innings and had six strike outs. Foster’s fastball had some cut causing some swings and misses but mostly pitched to contact and created weak groundball outs.

 

Max Stammel (2023 1B, Dallas, TX) let the ball get deep and smashed a ball down the left field line for a stand-up double. Stammel has a short compact swing with good bat speed. He will continue to get stronger as he gets older.
