2-Columbia Blue vs. 7-Red Highlights

6/6/2021

Tate Yardley (2022 RHP, Ovalo, TX) showed off his live arm today, commanding his 87-90 mph fastball.  He worked three innings on the mound, striking out eight of the nine hitters he faced and did not surrender a hit or a walk.  He paired the firm fastball with a curveball that had nice shape and was at 79 mph.

 

Anthony Avalos (2023 SS, Pearland, TX) was able to turn on an inside fastball and rope a double down the third base line in his first at bat.  In his second at bat, he waited on an outside pitch and drove it to right field for a single.  He has quick hands and a good feel for the barrel, allowing him to make hard contact all over the field.

 

Ahmed Halawe (2022 1B, Houston, TX) is a strong athlete that was able to utilize his power drive a ball deep into the gap in left-center field.  He is a player that looks to damage, especially on pitches over the inner half like the one he hit today.

 

Wade Nobles (2023 1B, Magnolia, TX) has a large frame with raw power that he was able to use on a hard line drive down the third base line that rolled all the way to the fence for a double.  He is able to generate a lot of backspin on his hits, causing them to carry into gaps and over outfielder’s heads.  He also threw two innings on the mound, sitting 76-78 mph with his fastball and changing speeds with a 66 mph curveball.

 

Jose De Jongh (2024 3B, Fulshear, TX) was able to lift an outer half fastball out over the center fielder’s head, resulting in a double.  He does a nice job transferring his weight through the swing, allowing him to get maximize his power.

 

Trenton Buckley (2024 SS, Magnolia, TX) showed a mature approach at the plate today, going 2-for-2 with two singles.  He sent the first single to center field and the second one was a line drive to right field.  He has a balanced swing a good barrel control, resulting in solid contact.

 

Paxton Ponder (2022 SS, Frisco, TX) in an athletic player that has found multiple barrels this weekend.  In this one, he lined a ball to right field and used his impressive speed to end up on third with an extra base hit.


4-Maroon vs 5-Orange Highlights

Andre Wood (2024 RHP, Leander, TX) is showing off a good arsenal of pitches on the mound. His fastball has been 82-85 MPH and has some feel for a changeup too. Flashes a curveball at 65 MPH that has some tilt to it. Big frame on the mound and repeats his delivery well.

Raif Cobb (2023 LHP, Cypress, TX) struck out the side to start his outing on the mound. His fastball has been up to 84 with life and pairs it with a good curveball. He finished with seven strikeouts in three innings. Solid command/control and works with fast arm speed. Good athlete on the mound.

Adin Morehouse (2022 C, Hubbard, TX) was good behind the dish on defense. Receives well and has good catch and throw ability with a clean arm stroke on throws. Also barreled up a base hit up the middle and had a multi hit game.

Ricco Longo (2022 SS, Spokane Valley, WA) barreled up a nice base hit and shows quick hands at the plate. He had a multi hit day and can put some strength behind the swing.The Gonzaga commit has has a compact swing and has twitchy athletic movements in the field.

Brodie Scott (2024 SS, Coppell, TX) had a solid outing on the mound. He struck out the side and showed pin point control. His fastball was up to 79 and had good feel for a breaking ball.

Chase Sowell (2022 OF, Humble, TX) went yard for the second day in a row and had a multi hit game. His right-handed swing has advanced power and has an excellent feel for the barrel. He's been tearing it up at the plate all weekend.

 

 


3- Gray vs 5- Orange Highlights

6/6/2021

Kyle Lockhart (2024 RHP, Friendswood, TX) ran his fastball up to 82 MPH and has a live arm. Also dropped in a mid 70s breaking ball. Good projectable frame and should continue to add velocity as he fills out.

Landon Campbell (2023 RHP, Waco, TX) was flashing the leather at third base. Made a nice barehanded pick up and throw to get a runner. Solid arm strength and body control for the infield.

Anthony Key (2024 RHP, Cypress, TX) showed off good stuff on the bump. His fastball was up to 81 and flashed a good feel for a curveball. Threw a quick 1-2-3 inning with a strikeout. At the plate, mashed a big double to deep RCF.

Donovan Jackson Jr (2023 SS, Missouri City, TX) made several impressive catches in centerfield. His best was a nice over the shoulder grab in deep center to rob a hitter of extra bases. Shows solid instincts in the outfield and has great range. Solid run tool as well.

Logan Husch (2023 3B, Dripping Springs, TX) barreled up a nice base hit to left-field. Swing is balanced and has a ton of strength to it. Really solid approach at the plate and looks to do damage.

Zach Alt (2023 OF, Westlake, TX) showed off a solid run tool on the bases. He beat out an infield hit and stole a base. He's a threat to steal anytime he gets on base.


1-Black vs. 6-Purple Higlights

Zackary Hunter Nichols (2022 RHP, Missouri City, TX): Nichols was dominant in his outing, running his fastball up to 88 mph with command to both edges, working in a sharp slider and solid changeup with fade as well. 

Hudson White (2021 C, Fort Worth, TX): White has a bevy of tools and showed off some of the power in this one, launching a double to left and showing off good speed on the base paths. He's also a very talented catcher. He picked up two hits in this one overall. 

Carter Andreozzi (2022 OF, Houston, TX): Andreozzi picked up a pair of hits in this game and had a solid weekend overall at this event, showing consistent bat-to-ball skills with projectable power and athleticism. 

Carson Sydnor (2024 LHP, Montgomery, TX): Sydnor picked up pair of base hits in this one, one on a line to LF and another on a line up the middle, showing off a balanced swing with good plate coverage and a knack for the barrel.  


3- Gray vs 4 Maroon Highlights

6/6/2021

Ashton Lassiter (2023 RHP, Bellaire, TX) roped an RBI double to deep RCF on a tough pitch. Shows a nice whole field approach and easy juice from the right side.

Christopher Roberts (2021 1B, Kemah, TX) showed off an impressive arm in the infield. Solid arm strength for third base and throws have good carry. Compact swing at the plate.

Andrew Weidenfeller (2022 RHP, Spring, TX) threw three strong innings on the mound. He struck out three and only allowed one hit and didn't allow a walk. His fastball was up to 79 and flashed a good curveball at 69.

Andrew Frizzell (2024 3B, Cypress, TX) was very sharp on the mound as well. His fastball was up to 77 and flashed a solid slider at 70 that has nice bite to it.He struck out three in two innings and only allowed one baserunner.

Chase Sowell (2022 OF, Humble, TX) hit a monster home run to deep left field. Easy power from the right side with plenty of strength in the swing and has a feel for the barrel. Solid athleticism here too.

 


6- Purple vs 7-Red Highlights

Jackson Mills (2022 RHP, Nacogdoches, TX) is looking sharp. Throws with a lower slot and has good deception. His fastball has been up to 78 with life. Good depth with his changeup and his slider topped at 66 with good two-plane action. Changes slots to add to deception.

Connor Kelley (2022 RHP, Spring, TX) is touching 88 MPH on his fastball. Big frame on the mound and comes at hitters from a downhill plane. Shows a sharp slider that has nice bite to it and was mostly 12/6 shape.

Drew Hallead (2023 2B, Austin, TX) shows off a solid arm at shortstop. He's made a few nice plays early in this one showing off good range to his backhand. Smooth reactions up the middle.

Carson Hart (2022 C, Magnolia, TX) has shown good catch and throw ability from behind the plate. Gunned out a runner trying to steal second base and has a quick transfer. Strong arm and his throws have good carry. Shows good athleticism from behind the plate.

Camron McCoy (2021 RHP, St.Ann, MO) has electric stuff on the mound. Quick arm speed and throws a rising fastball that's been up to 90 MPH. Flashed a solid slider that sat ~70 and had some nasty bite and late downward movement. Generated a ton of whiffs. Flashed a nice changeup that had some fade to it at 83.

Adison Mattix (2022 RHP, Edmonds, WA) is running his fastball up to 86 MPH and it's showing nice cut action. Quick arm speed and the delivery has some deception. His curveball sat mostly at 77 MPH. He struck out three hitters in his first inning on the mound. Flashed a changeup that was upper 70s with depth to it.

JD Crisp (2024 OF, Cypress, TX) made a nice diving catch in center field. He shows off great instincts/reeds in the outfield and has a solid glove. Good run tool as well. Also hit a monster home run from the right side to left field. Switch hitter that has pop from both sides. Solid athleticism overall.

Anthony Avalos (2023 SS, Pearland, TX) had a three hit game including two doubles. Shows solid bat speed and has good bat to ball skills. Solid run tool as well and has soft hands in the field.

Hudson White (2021 C, Fort Worth, TX) hit a double and was making loud contact all game. The Texas Tech commit put on a show in BP and has shown advanced ability behind the plate. Solid athleticism.

 

 

 

 

 


3-Gray vs. 5-Orange Highlights

6/5/2021

Braden Gostisha (2022 OF, Round Rock, TX) utilized the barrel control he showed in batting practice during this game, roping a line drive over the right fielder’s head for a triple.  He is a well-built player with room to add more strength and power to go along with the quick hands he has displayed.

 

Garland K. Parker (2023 3B, Sherman, TX) used his strength to leverage a deep fly ball to left field that landed over the defender’s head for a double.  He has strong hands and was able to stay inside the ball and made solid contact with the inside fastball.

 

Corey Ross (2022 RHP, Cypress, TX) showed true potential on the bump, throwing his fastball at 80-84 mph and tunneling a slider at 74 mph off of it.  He has a large frame with plenty to project on, showing command even as the rain started to come down hard.

 

Matthew Hedrick (2024 LHP, Houston, TX) filled up the zone with both the fastball at 77-81 mph and a big sweeping curve that was at 67 mph.  He was effective going after hitters, challenging them with both pitches in any count, showing advanced control for his age.

 

Garrett Graham (2022 3B, Abilene, TX) showed his potential at the plate today, rifling a triple over the right fielder’s head for a triple.  He is a strong athlete with an advanced swing that allows him to make hard contact to all areas of the field.

 

Ryan Everitt (2024 1B, Weslaco, TX) attacked hitters in his two innings of work today with a nice fastball and curveball mix.  The fastball sat 80-83 mph and his curveball was 71 mph.  His over the top delivery gave the fastball good angle and the curve a clean 12-6 shape.

 

Shane Connell (2022 3B, Tomball, TX) impressed on the mound in his two innings of relief today, sitting 82-85 mph with his fastball.  His fastball was his best pitch, as he used it to get ahead of the opposing hitters.  He worked in a curveball at 73 mph to keep hitters from locking in on the heater.

4-Maroon vs. 5-Orange Highlights

6/5/2021

Jeric Curtis (2022 OF, Cypress, TX): Curtis turned in a blistering 6.32 second 60 time, then came right into the game looking for extra bases, driving a liner up the right center field gap and positively cruising into 2nd. The speed changes the game. 

Colin Sloan (2023 3B, Bellaire, TX): Sloan showed off some serious power up the right-center gap, driving a double that was launched with good strength off the barrel. 

Ashton Lassiter (2023 RHP, Bellaire, TX): Lassiter was good on the mound in this one, working up to 86 mph and consistently challenging the strike zone, working in a good breaker as well. 

Raif Cobb (2023 LHP, Cypress, TX): Cobb is a primary lefthanded pitcher with good hitting tools as well, getting an elevated pitch and launching it up the pull-side gap in this game with a clean stroke and good carry. 

Adin Morehouse (2022 C, Hubbard, TX): Morehouse showed off that strength in his swing, driving a double on a line to center field and showing good hands through the swing with overall projectable power. 


1- Black vs 2 Columbia Blue Highlights

6/5/2021

Chase Batten (2024 LHP, Richmond, TX) started on the mound for Team Black and threw three perfect innings. He has quick arm speed with a fluid delivery from a low 3/4 slot. His fastball sat 81-82 with tailing life to it. He generated a lot of whiffs early on it. Dropped in a few solid curveballs ~69 that had good bite. Mixed in a changeup with good depth to it.

Zackary Hunter Nichols (2022 RHP, Missouri City, TX) hit a home run to deep left early in the second inning. Shows off impressive power to pullside and quick bat speed.He tripled later in the game as well and showed off a solid run tool.

Augustus McKay (2022 LHP, Odessa, TX) was sharp on the mound for Team Columbia Blue. He ran his fastball up to 83 MPH. Fluid delivery and repeats it well. His slider was up to 73 and showed good 1/7 shape. He threw three scoreless frames.

Carter Andreozzi (2022 OF, Houston, TX) stroked a double that one hopped the LF fence in the 8th inning. Compact swing with impressive strength and has some good barrel control. He's been working deep counts consistently this game. Good athleticism here too.

Cayden Box (2022 SS, San Angelo, TX) smoked an RBI double to deep CF in the 8th inning. Shows a good feel for the barrel and has solid raw power. Good whole field approach at the plate.

Nico Defazio (2022 SS, Piedmont, CA) made some solid defensive plays at short stop. He made a tough barehanded play look easy late charging a ball and throwing to first on the run. Shows good hands and range in the infield.

Coldon Kiser (2022 OF, Lubbock, TX) should off a solid arm in the outfield gunning out a runner from centerfield. Shows off a solid hit tool as well and has made loud contact all game. Good feel for the barrel.


3-Gray vs. 4-Maroon

Vinny Collins (2022 LHP, Sulphur, LA): Collins struck out 5 in his outing on the mound, running his fastball up to 83 mph and showing feel for a breaking ball as well as a shorter slider. 

Douglas Bauer (2022 RHP, Houston, TX): Bauer looked good in this one, working up to 87 mph on the mound with a lean, athletic build that projects, showing feel for his offspeed stuff as well. 

Carson Hintz (2022 C, Spring, TX): Hintz was up to 86 mph on the mound, using his advanced physical strength to produce good velo, doing a good job of pounding the zone and showing feel for his curveball as well. 

Colin Sloan (2023 3B, Bellaire, TX): Sloan handles the bat well, with the ability to work counts deep and use the whole field, and he picked up a double down the right field line following a long, quality at bat. 

Shane Connell (2022 3B, Tomball, TX): Connell showed off his power in this one, driving a ball up the left-center field gap for a double, one of just two total extra base hits on the day from either team. 


Batting Practice Highlights

6/5/2021

Carter Andreozzi (2022 OF, Houston, TX): Andreozzi showed a compact, quick path with consistent barrel skills on a line, working mostly pull-side and middle-field. 

Coldon Kiser (2022 OF, Lubbock, TX): Kiser took a very loud round, showing power up both gaps with jump off the barrel and consistent bat speed. 

Micah Walker (2020 SS, Pasadena, TX): Walker postures well through his stroke and does a good job getting plane, with the ability to impact the ball pull-side and use the whole field as well. 

Caleb Medlock (2024 OF, Houston, TX): Medlock showed off good hands at the plate with a short, line drive swing that consistently produced hard-barreled contact. 

Sebastian Harden (2022 SS, Spring, TX): Harden showed off some serious strength in his righthanded swing, generating good leverage off of his front side and impacting the ball well when on time. 

Cade Boyer (2022 RHP, Johnson City, TX): Boyer showed off promising bat speed with a very whippy, strong barrel that produced hard-barreled shots on a line pull-side consistently. 

Donovan Jackson Jr (2023 SS, Missouri City, TX): Jackson has very intriguing bat speed with a clean path, showing a middle-field approach that was barrel-heavy and projectable. 

Corey Ross (2022 RHP, Cypress, TX): Ross has good size and strength to him and puts that on display in BP, showing a pull-side approach with lots of power in that direction when on time with the barrel. 

Logan Husch (2023 3B, Dripping Springs, TX): Husch has a smooth barrel path with some whip to the stroke, and he consistently did a nice job during his round of finding barrel firmly to all fields. 

Chase Sowell (2022 OF, Humble, TX): Sowell really projects for power with a long, lean frame; showing off bat speed and barrel skills that speak to how much power he has a chance to have eventually. 

Conner Cramer (2024 C, Conroe, TX): Cramer showed off loud bat speed with leverage and good lower half drive, driving the ball on a rising line pull-side and up the middle. One to follow. 

Braden Gostisha (2022 OF, Round Rock, TX): Gostisha does a nice job creating stretch with his hands and showing off his bat speed, stinging several balls on well-struck lines with good hands overall. 

Andre Wood (2024 RHP, Leander, TX): Wood separates and creates stretch, showing off bat speed and strength at contact as well, showing really interesting hitting tools overall. 

Ryan Everitt (2024 1B, Weslaco, TX): Everitt has good strength to his frame and shows that off, hammering baseballs pull-side consistently and showing the ability to work up the middle as well. 

Garrett Graham (2022 3B, Abilene, TX): Graham took one of the loudest rounds of the day, showing off massive pull-side power with easy HR carry with the ability to drive the ball up both gaps as well. The power stood out as the best of the day. 

Landon Bailey (2023 OF, Vidor, TX): Bailey showed off a compact, quick stroke that produces consistent line drive jump, using the whole field consistently as well. 

Parker Lee (2021 3B, Friendswood, TX): Lee showed off some of the louder hitting tools of the day, with good bat speed that produced consistently driven shots, showing off HR power as well. 

Hudson White (2021 C, Fort Worth, TX): White was very loud in BP, showing off excellent bat speed with plate coverage skills and the ability to really drive the baseball with advanced strength. 

Sonny Sosa (2022 OF, New Braunfels, TX): Sosa showed off a loose, whippy stroke that generates good bat speed, driving the ball well pull-side when on time. 

Jackson Priesmeyer (2024 C, Sugar Land, TX): Priesmeyer shows good balance in his stroke and can use the whole field successfully, with a short, compact stroke that projects.
