4-Red vs. 6-White Highlights

2/27/2021

Brandon Skorupski (2022 OF, Wixom, MI): Skorupski stood out all day for two-way reasons, smoking a double off the wall in this one and also getting on the mound and working 80-82 mph with a sharp, late-breaking curveball. 

Matthew Roche (2022 3B, Potomac, MD): Roche has a simple, quick stroke at the plate that gets the barrel in the zone quickly and with authority, and he showed off good hard contact skills in this one. 

Rhys Francis (2022 RHP, Bridgeport, OH): Francis showed well in this one on the mound, working 80-84 mph with his fastball, generating good life on his fastball and showing good feel for his curveball/changeup combo. 

Griffin Horowicz (2022 3B, Shepherdstown, WV): Horowicz had a good day with the bat overall, and he picked up another knock in this game, continuing to show a simple and balanced stroke built for hard linear contact. 

Kaden Hilburger (2022 OF, Yorktown, VA): Hilburger was tremendous overall this weekend incuding on the mound in this game, running his fastball up to 88 mph with a devastating slider, striking out the side and needing only 10 pitches to do so. 

Michael Devenney (2024 RHP, Chester Springs, PA): Devenney is the picture of projection and looked good all-around this weekend, and he stood out on the mound later Saturday, striking out 5 in 2 innings, working 77-80 mph with a good breaker. 


5-Royal vs. 6-White Highlights

2/27/2021

Bryce Davenport (2023 SS, Barnegat, NJ): Davenport showed off a quick, compact stroke at the plate keeping his hands inside the baseball on a line drive plane, picking up a hard single in this game. 

Ryan McElmeel (2022 RHP, La Vista, NE): McElmeel was dominant in his inning on the mound, running his fastball up to 85 mph with good feel for his curveball, striking out 2. 

Colten Gottlob (2022 2B, Manalapan Township, NJ): Gottlob hit a tank in this game, showing really quick hands and the ability to turn on pitches with authority, really smoking this one down the line with big jump off the barrel. 

Brandon Skorupski (2022 OF, Wixom, MI): Skorupski showed well with the bat in this one, smoking a liner right back through the middle for a base hit and showing off his improved speed on the base paths. 

Robert Gavlik (2022 RHP, McMurray, PA): Gavlik looked good on the mound with a strong, physical presence, working 82-85 mph with a heavy fastball and good curveball, striking out 3 in 2 innings. 

 


4-Red vs. 5-Royal Highlights

2/27/2021

Brendan Cecka (2022 SS, Burke, VA): Cecka had a good day at the plate, working a walk in his first AB and singling in his second AB, showing off a simple stroke with good plate coverage skills and a compact swing overall. 

Robert Gavlik (2022 RHP, McMurray, PA): Gavlik had his team's lone base hit in this game, singling firmly in the 3rd inning. His swing is short and compact and is able to deliver the barrel out front on time, with good strength to his frame. 

Greyson Long (2022 RHP, Albuquerque, NM): Long showed really well in his start on the mound, striking out 4 in 2 innings. He's long and projectable and ran his fastball up to 84 mph with a good changeup and lots of projection. 

 

 

1-Black vs. 3-Orange Highlights

2/27/2021

David Kessler (2022 SS, Bethel Park, PA): Kessler had one of the loudest swings of the day, launching a ball to left field for what was ruled a home run in the dome. That swing highlighted what was a good event for Kessler overall. 

Talon Mihalinac (2022 RHP, New Galilee, PA): Mihalinac was dominant in this one, striking out 3 over 2 innings, running his fastball up to 88 mph and pounding the strike zone with a 3 pitch mix, including a dynamic slider. 

Aaron Galaska (2022 SS, Sewickley, PA): A primary shortstop, Galaska climbed onto the mound for a relief outing and was loud, working his fastball up to 86 mph and showing a sharp, late-breaking curveball as well. 

Maika Niu (2022 OF, Mechanicsburg, PA): Niu impressed all day in several ways, including his relief appearance on the mound, where he ran his fastball up to 84 mph with a quick arm, attacking hitters and punching out 2 in 1 inning. 

Walter Vitovich (2023 SS, Pittsburgh, PA): Vitovich showed well as a two-way player this weekend, showing off his ability on the mound in relief in this game, striking out 2 in a single inning with his fastball up to 85 mph. 


2-Cardinal vs. 3-Orange Highlights

2/27/2021

Mason Horwat (2023 RHP, Sewickley, PA): was dominant, striking out 6 over two innings on the bump. He worked 80-84 mph with heavy, sinking life and a good downer curveball, attacking hitters from the jump. 

Jacob McGuire (2023 SS, Gibsonia, PA): McGuire was also excellent on the mound, punching out two in his lone inning of relief, running his fastball up to 82 mph and showing a 3 pitch mix with lots of room to fill out his frame remaining. 

Tristan Holland (2023 C, Glenshaw, PA): Holland was successful in his trip to the plate, squaring up a single to the opposite field that showcased his ability to stay on the ball well and use the whole field with authority. 


1-Black vs. 2-Cardinal Highlights

2/27/2021

Gavin Kelly (2024 C, Presto, PA): Kelly showed off advanced hitting tools in the game portion, picking up a pair of doubles while really impressing with his hand speed and ability to hit offspeed stuff. 

Bryson Huwar (2022 RHP, Fisher, PA): Huwar picked up 5 strikeouts over 2 strong innings, commanding the ball well and running his fastball up to 82 mph from a low slot, creating good life on the pitch and mixing in a breaker for strikes. 

Maika Niu (2022 OF, Mechanicsburg, PA): Niu had a loud day on Saturday, showing off in workouts and then impressing in game, showing off clean defensive skills in the infield as well as a consistent, hard contact-results swing. 

Lucas Henn (2024 RHP, Cranberry Twp, PA): Henn showed out this weekend overall and on the mound in this game, working 80-83 mph with his fastball and showing advanced feel for a 3 pitch mix with good control. 

Ethan Tinker (2022 RHP, Pittsburgh, PA): Tinker threw 2 solid frames, striking out 3 and attacking with his fastball, which sat in the 80-83 mph range with good plane from a higher slot.

Batting Practice Highlights Teams 4-6

2/27/2021

Kaden Hilburger (2022 OF, Yorktown, VA): Hilburger showed extremely impressive hitting tools from both sides of the plate in this event, showing off high-level bat speed with loud jump off the bat from both sides. 

Griffin Horowicz (2022 3B, Shepherdstown, WV): Horowicz consistently got the barrel out front on time with good bat speed and a clean stroke, and he really drove some balls hard on a line and projects well for more power. 

Michael Devenney (2024 RHP, Chester Springs, PA): Devenney has an intriguing swing that is loose and easy and repeatable to go along with tons of physical projection remaining on his frame, giving him a substantial power upside. 

Max Stewart (2022 3B, Batavia, OH): Stewart has good physical strength and puts that on display in his swing, generating leverage consistently and getting the ball in the air with very good carry and jump when on time. 

Adam Lippe (2022 1B, Hartville, OH): Lippe does a nice job of creating separation through his load and leverage off of his front side, getting the ball into the air with big jump and strength when he barreled it up. 

Matthew Roche (2022 3B, Potomac, MD): Roche separates well and shows good intent through his swing with quality bat speed and strength, repeating his swing well and showing the ability to drive the ball hard pull-side and up the middle on a line. 

Brandon Skorupski (2022 OF, Wixom, MI): Skorupski has gotten noticeably stronger and that strength shows up in his swing, where he's increased his bat speed and added more leverage to the point where he's now driving the ball on a hard line with a positive launch. 

Ryan Florence (2022 C, Shadyside, OH): Florence takes a big swing with big intent to do damage, showing advanced strength when the barrel gets out front, leveraging the ball into the air and showing the makings of big power. 

James Walsh (2022 C, North Potomac, MD): Walsh repeats his swing well and is consistent in his approach, getting the barrel head out with bat speed and a clean path, showing good power pull side with the ability to work to all fields.

Michael Sabasteanski (2022 C, Ashburn, VA): Sabasteanski has good physicality and strength and shows it off in his swing, generating consistent leverage with the ability to drive the ball in the air with authority. 

Andrew Capizzi (2023 3B, Cranberry Twp, PA): Capizzi has quality bat speed on a compact, plate-covering swing plane that allows him to get the barrel out and make hard contact to all fields on pitches located all over the zone. 

Antonio Cordeiro (2023 C, Pittsburgh, PA): Cordeiro has a very good present combination of bat speed and leverage, doing a great job of moving the barrel around while spraying hard liners that project well for power long term. 

Jacob McGuire (2023 SS, Gibsonia, PA): McGuire has a very projectable frame and swing, with present bat speed and good overall mechanics that gets the barrel in a great spot consistently, really projecting well for power.
