4-Gray vs 5-Green Game Highlights

10/18/2020

Steele Jackson (2021 OF, Hamilton, IN) showed some solid stuff over his two innings. He lives mostly 83-85 with fastball and bumped 87. Steele also mixed in a curveball with 11-5 shape in the low-70s that showed sharpness at times.

Evimael Quiles (2022 3B, Camuy, PR) dominated over his two-inning stint. He sat 83-84 and topped at 85 with his fastball. He garnered swing and miss on his curveball that showed tightness with short break low in the zone. Quiles has a strong build with a simple, repeatable delivery.

Charles Nova (2023 SS, Doral, FL) was a standout on the defensive side of the ball. He made a spectacular backhanded pick at third base before unleashing a perfect throw to the first basemen. The Florida native’s impact defensive tools were on display yesterday as he took a clean infield and was up to 91 mph acrss the diamond.

Christian Bermudez (2023 SS, Clermont, FL) tossed two scoreless frames to close out the game. The 2023 righty sat 78-80 and touch 81 from a free, loose, and low effort delivery. Bermudez has a thin and projectable build and more velocity in the future is inevitable.

Cristian Suero (2021 OF, Santo Domingo Este, SD) laced a ball down the leftfield line in the second inning for a double. The Dominican outfielder has an ideal strong and athletic build and has found some loud barrels.

3-Gold vs 5-Green Game Highlights

10/18/2020

Jack Frankovic (2022 OF, Little Silver, NJ) impressed on the mound with three scoreless innings. The righty displayed a strong three pitch mix. His fastball sat in the mid-80s with run and complimented it with a mostly lateral slider in the low-70s. Frankovic garnered a good amount of swing and miss on the pitch and flashed a changeup with fade as well.

Huston Wynne (2022 LHP, Nokomis, FL) went three innings while striking out six. The lefty short from a deceptive short arm action and ¾ slot. He pounded the zone at 75-77 and threw a high-60’s slider with big horizonal tilt. Hitters swung through the slider frequently and had difficulty picking up the ball out his Wynne’s hand over the entire outing.

Anthony Belisario (2023 SS, Staten Island, NY) threw two scoreless, one-hit innings while punching out a pair. The 2023 righthander filled up the zone with his heater while sitting in the low-80s and up to 84. He also mixed in a curveball and changeup.

Clay Minor (2021 SS, Greensboro, NC) continued with his hot bat, tripling deep over the centerfielders head in the final inning. The North Carolina native impressed during workouts and has showcased lots of pop with extra base hits in game.

3-Gold vs 4-Gray Game Highlights

10/18/2020

Skyler Netolicky (2021 LHP, Tampa, FL) dominated on the mound Sunday morning. The southpaw threw three scoreless, no-hit innings while striking out six. He lived in the mid-80s range with his cutting fastball. He utilized a low-70s breaking ball which he consistently landed for strikes as his out pitch.

Ceph Christie (2023 C, Washington, DC) put on an impressive display both at the plate and behind the dish. The backstop showed off his blazing 6.44 60 speed in the second inning, tripling to the opposite field. He also exhibited a strong, accurate arm on two separate steal attempts.

Andrew Fischer (2022 3B, Wall, NJ) showed glimpses of his big-time offensive potential when he laced a line drive to leftfield for a base hit in the first. The lefthanded hitter has a smooth stroke and gets into his lower half and hips well.

Cooper George (2021 OF, Okatie, SC) doubled in the first frame deep to left centerfield. The 6’3”/195 South Carolina native is built strongly and exhibits projectable power potential.

Ty Wicker (2022 SS, Oxford, MS) filed in two solid scoreless innings while striking out three. He operated in the low-80s with his fastball and mixed in a sharp, sweeping breaking ball. Wicker operates from a repeatable, easy, and low effort delivery.

1-Black vs 2-Columbia Blue Game Highlights

10/17/2020

Jack Owens (2022 RHP, Apollo Beach, FL) was dominant during his start today as the righthanded pitcher went three innings and struck out six batters racking up a ton of swing and miss in the process. He's an athletic two-way player, who also collected two hits, with quality arm speed, a fastball that worked 87-89 mph and a sharp, downer curveball with bite in the upper-70s that will be a key out pitch for him moving forward. Owens

Chris Akers (2021 C, Elmwood Park, IL) barreled a triple to left field in his first at-bat of the game. Akers has a physical build with impressive righthanded bat speed and showed off the speed as he hit a screaming liner past a diving outfielder to leg out the extra base hit.

Trenten Caples (2021 RHP, Chuluota, FL) has loose arm and works well down the mound with a durable build and an over the top arm slot. The fastball worked mostly 81-84 mph with boring run and arm side life while the curveball proved to be a true out pitch as it showed 12/6 shape with good depth that he could both land for strikes and bury for swings and misses.

Frankie Carney (2022 SS, San Diego, CA) made a number of excellent defensive plays during this look over at shortstop, with terrific range, instincts, and feel for the position. Carney made plays to both sides with easy, taking both well-placed and scorched batted balls and converting them into outs. He's got a lofted lefthanded swing and added a hit in the game as well.

Larson Scholtz (2022 RHP, Candler, NC) sat in the low-80s and showed good sinking life to the fastball from a lower slot; the fastball topped out at 85 mph on the day. Scholtz showed three pitches including a sidearm curveball that he liked to go to while flashing a changeup to induce a groundout against a lefthanded hitter; he also notched two hits on the morning.

Zachary Halligan (2023 3B, Uniontown, OH) is a big righthanded hitter and used the whole field to show off the barrel skills and hittability. Halligan had two ground ball singles in this one, notching a single up the middle and one to the pull side. He's got some feel to manipulate the barrel and a knack for hitting them where the defense isn't.

Andrew DiMisa (2021 2B, Tampa, FL) showed impressive stuff on in relief as the righthander has an arm action that really works as well as three pitches he can throw for strikes. The arm has some whip to it with a low-80s heater, sharp curveball, and fading changeup to complete the repertoire.

1-Black vs 3-Gold Game Highlights

10/17/2020

Austin Overn (2022 OF, Santa Ana, CA) had some loud barrels Saturday afternoon in both batting practice and in game. The USC commit is fluid through the zone with twitch and looseness in his wrists. The lefthanded hitter’s swing is more line drive oriented at this point, but he does create lift at times and showed some good pop to his pull side.

Tanner Cullen (2023 2B, Gotha, FL) threw two scoreless frames while only allowing one hit. He lived in the low-80s with his fastball and was up to 84. The righty threw his 11-5 curveball with confidence and for strikes. The pitch showed some late bite and was on of the keys to the four strikeouts he racked up.

Keenan Haugabook (2021 RHP, St. Petersburg, FL) ossed a dazzling three no-hit innings while punching out three. The Florida native operated in the low-80’s and mixed in his offspeed effectively. His mid-60s curveball kept hitters on their toes as he consistently landed it for strikes.

Gavin Sissel (2021 RHP, Lutz, FL) battled some command issues at times but showed stuff to like for the long term running his fastball up to 85 mph while mixing in a hard-biting curveball in the low-70s. His athleticism and arm speed posit good upside as strengthens through more maturity.

Nic Frink (2022 C, Scarborough, ME) showed his two-way potential over his two inning stint, sitting 84-86 and touching 88 with heavy arm side run. Frink complimented his heater with a high-60s curveball that showed sharpness and 11-5 tilt. The righthander has a strong build with a loose and free arm.

2-Columbia Blue vs 3-Gold Game Highlights

10/17/2020

Liam O'Brien (2021 RHP, Tuscon, AZ) tossed three strong innings while only surrendering one run. The tall and slender 6’4”/185 righty oozes projection and sat 84-87 and touched 88 with his heater. He also mixed in a curveball with 12-6 shape and good depth.

Clay Minor (2021 SS, Greensboro, NC) made some loud contact in-game. He drove the ball with authority to his pull side while driving a deep flyball to left centerfield in his first at-bat and a long flyball to left in his following appearance. He showed effortless and easy lift.

Tim Dickinson (2022 SS, Glen Mills, PA) flashed some projectable power, doubling to the rightfield corner. He showed a well-balanced swing with fluidity in the barrel through the zone.

Liam O'Donnell (2023 3B, Bradenton, FL) showed high-level two-way ability in the game. The projectable 6’3”/190 righty sat 84-88 and touched 89 from a nice tempo. He mixed in an effective curveball with 11-5 shape and consistently threw it for strikes and swing and miss. O’Donnell also showed some pop at the plate while driving two long flyballs to leftfield.

Batting Practice Highlights

10/17/2020

Gabriel Perez (2021 OF, Miami, FL) has a loose swing with easy hands and works through contact nicely. He's got a middle of the field approach with good strength through contact and projects for impactful power as he continues to develop.

Baker Green (2022 C, Trussville, AL) is comfortable in the batter's box and gets extended nicely through the finish. He works through the front leg nicely to maintain that rear leg drive while he shows good strength to both gaps while flashing lift.

Luis Castillo (2022 OF, Santo Domingo, SD) has big, easy bat speed from the right side with an easy trigger and loud impact at the point of contact. The hips are fast and there's good violence to the stroke while the upside is limitless for the physical righthanded hitter.

Clay Russin (2022 1B, Sarasota, FL) has quality bat speed and the physicality and strength through impact stood out in a loud way. He's got a very direct stroke and can repeat well as he consistently showed the ability to impact the baseball with jump.

Jack Owens (2022 RHP, Apollo Beach, FL) showed quality bat speed with loose, whippy hands and an athletic stroke overall. He lifted the ball consistently, showing good carry and backspin to the pull side, with an accurate barrel and controlled swing.

Austin Overn (2022 OF, Santa Ana, CA) has a whippy stroke from the left side with quality bat speed, natural loft to the swing plane, and leverage out in front to posit future power potential. He gets out in front and lifts the ball with consistent, well-struck contact to the pull side.

Jesus Delgado (2022 SS, Pembroke Pines, FL) shows quick hands with a fairly level swing plane and the hands work very well through the finish. Consistent round with a line drive oriented approach with a low effort operation and good barrel accuracy.

Christian Olivo (2021 SS, Vega Alta, PR) has a compact stroke and gets the barrel through the hitting zone nicely. The swing is athletic and easy with a line drive swing approach and turns the barrel over with conviction and consistency.

Nic Frink (2022 C, Scarborough, ME) showed very good bat speed and whip to the barrel with a swing that features a good amount of intent and aggression. The power to the pull side is significant and the ball explodes off the bat positing a very high power ceiling.

Jack Frankovic (2022 OF, Little Silver, NJ) creates very good separation and turns the barrel over well with a relatively simple and repeatable operation. He shows power when he gets his hands extended and shows good strength through the point of impact.

Tim Dickinson (2022 SS, Glen Mills, PA) has a direct path to contact and controls the zone nicely, showing the ability to manipulate the ball and work to all fields. He leverages well with a loose stroke that projects nicely for power in the future.

Jakobi Davis (2021 OF, Sarasota, FL) shows big strength and athleticism with a powerful lefthanded swing that generates significant impact to the pull side. Davis' approach is to hit the ball hard to pull as there were well-struck, consistent line drives as he turned the barrel over.

Jackson Wear (2022 OF, San Juan Capistrano, CA) shows a balanced swing with a compact, repeatable stroke and a quiet set up pre pitch. There's easy lift at the end of the stroke with carry off the bat to both gaps.

Robert Nedry (2023 SS, Lighthouse Point, FL) has some noise in the load but gets on plane quickly and was on time consistently with the swing. The hands are loose and there's good whip to the barrel head as the line drives to pull were impressive and there's room to project power as well.

Nathan Martinez (2021 SS, Murrieta, CA) is a physical righthanded hitter with an easy swing as he gets out in front and lifts the ball well to the pull side. The hands are very loose as he looks to drive the ball in the air and controls the stroke nicely as with added strength the long fly balls will turn into home runs.

Horacio Cabrales (2022 1B, Lansing, IL) has big righthanded strength off the barrel as he shows impressive bat speed and the ability to turn the barrel over. There was a lot of line drive contact as the impact strength posits some future power with minor tweaks.

Cristian Suero (2021 OF, Santo Domingo Este, SD) has a loose swing with a big leg lift that he uses properly to generate good torque up through the lower half. The swing was consistent as was the line drive batted ball contact and the impact strength is notable.

Derek Gippson (2022 SS, Gurabo, PR) shows fast hands with easy bat speed as he turns the barrel over aggressively and with intent. The hands are very loose with natural loft to the stroke and the projection combined with the present barrel ability make the upside high.

Andrew Fischer (2022 3B, Wall, NJ) has a whippy lefthanded swing with good torque, leverage, and bat speed through contact. The bat speed stands out and he uncoils on time to generate a lot of hard hit contact to pull and posit future power potential.

4-Gray vs 5-Green Game Highlights

10/17/2020

Ryan Rushing (2023 LHP, Bradenton, FL) shows a lot to like out of an uncommitted southpaw with an easy delivery and a deceptive, low-80s fastball. He worked the pitch to both sides for whiffs with good feel for a short, downer curveball and showing a changeup as well.

Jack Jouett (2022 RHP, San Antonio, TX) worked his fastball up to 86 mph and held velocity well during the outing. He gets downhill plane on the fastball to both sides with a big breaking curveball with good shape and plenty of depth.

Robert Nedry (2023 SS, Lighthouse Point, FL) showed a smooth, line drive swing plane with an opposite field single to leadoff and another hard barrel to pull late. The speed is also good for Nedry as his aggressiveness on the base paths led to a couple of steals and a run scored.

Leonardo Beltran (2022 C, Coral Springs, FL) knocked in two doubles on the afternoon, the first a shot that burned the centerfielder and the second to the opposite field gap. With three total hits, Beltran stays short to the ball and also showed some solid catch-and-throw skills behind the dish.

Jordan Eggenberger (2022 RHP, Jupiter, FL) has a quick, short arm stroke with a fastball that peaked at 87 mph with some sink. He showed very good command to the glove side along with a slurvy breaking ball that was deadly when buried.

Jay Tuttle (2023 C, Owosso, MI) hit some balls hard in this look and though nothing landed he still showed some impact through extension. He's got good strength at contact as he had a firm fly out to left field and another line out to third base.

Christopher Roberts (2022 SS, Lutz, FL) is an athletic swinger in the box and had a couple of hard hit balls including a hustle double late in the game. Roberts shot a liner right back up the middle that split the outfielders in the opposite field gap as he showed off his speed to get a double.

Ty Wicker (2022 SS, Oxford, MS) notched two hits on the afternoon and showed quality barrel skills in the process. Wicker competes in the box, spoiling tough pitches, and shows looseness in his hands as he's able to whip and turn the barrel over with intent.

Ryan Geraghty (2023 RHP, Mundelein, IL) has a whippy arm and a lively fastball that worked up to 85 and settled in the low-80s nicely. The arm works well and he sinks the ball when low while the arm speed posits some upside.

1-Black vs 2-Columbia Blue Game Highlights

10/17/2020

Paul Farley (2023 RHP, Kennesaw, GA) threw three solid innings sitting 84-86 and up to 87 with a quality mid-70s breaking ball. He throws from an effortless delivery and projects extremely well from a 6’1”/160-pound frame.

Michael Alfonso (2021 SS, Key West, FL) lived in the high-80s in his two innings of relief from a strong, athletic build. He also spun an effective curveball in the high-60s that garnered a handful of empty swings.

Jack Owens (2022 RHP, Apollo Beach, FL) collected a pair of hits in the first game of the day. He hit a hard groundball through the left side in his first appearance and lined a double to the left centerfield gap to end the game. Owens is an athletic, high-level two-way talent.

Frankie Carney (2022 SS, San Diego, CA) showed off his defensive prowess in workouts with quick feet and athletic actions and he carried it over into the game, looking smooth and natural while making tough plays look easy. He also impresses with the bat in his hands using a loose and fluid stroke to create solid line drive contact.

Zachary Halligan (2023 3B, Uniontown, OH) picked up two hits on the day, one of which was a hard triple to centerfield. Halligan has a tall and lean frame standing at 6’3”/185 and showed good feel for the barrel.
