Event Information
This is the 1st Annual Perfect Game Middle School Showdown held at the Hoover Met Sports Complex in Hoover, AL.

**NO metal spikes allowed on turf fields**

5 Innings or 1 hour 45 minute time limits

PITCHING LIMITATIONS: Schools must follow their AHSAA pitch count guidelines and reporting procedures.

4. The MAXIMUM number of pitches per day is based on the level of the pitcher pitching.
Note: A pitcher has the opportunity to complete the current batter when reaching the maximum allotment of pitches.

9th and 10th Graders: 100
7th and 8th Graders 85
5. Specific rest periods are in place when a pitcher reaches a high threshold of pitches delivered
in a day. A calendar day is from 12:01 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. (Games that continuous play
goes beyond 11:59 p.m. are considered to be part of that same calendar day). The rest periods
required during the regular and tournament season are listed below:

51 to 75 2 days
26 to 50 1 day
Less than 26 no rest required
A calendar day means that if a pitcher throws 76 pitches on Tuesday, that player may not
pitch again until Saturday. The starting and ending time of the game does not matter in the
calculation of when a pitcher is eligible to pitch again.

RULES: AHSAA Rules A 10-run rule will be used for all regular season and state playoff games. A game may end
any time after 4 1/2 or 5 innings when a team is 10 or more runs behind and has completed
its turn at bat.

Seeding and Tie Breaker Rules
1. Pool play overall record (winning percentage)
2. If two teams are tied - Head to Head winner
3. If three teams are tied – If one team has defeated both other teams, that team advances.If not go to #4.
4. Total runs allowed in pool play.
5. If still tied – Total runs scored in pool play           
6. If still tied – Total runs allowed subtracting game with most runs allowed in pool play
7. If still tied – Total runs allowed minus two games with most runs allowed in pool play
8. If still tied – Runs scored inning by inning starting with first game until one team has more runs after a complete inning starting with pool games
9. Second place teams will always be taken ahead of 3rd place teams for wild cards, 3rd place ahead of 4th  place, etc.
