Makai Johnson is a 2021 SS/2B with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Newberry, FL who attends Newberry HS. Recorded a 6.81 second 60-yard dash time. Athletic frame with wiry strength and some quick twitch as well. Primary shortstop who moves well and has a compact arm stroke. Good accuracy with a very quick release. Accurate from multiple arm slots and shows excellent body control and balance. Righthanded hitter with an open stance and direct path to contact. Shows quickness with his hands and has a high hand set and a high back elbow. Whips the barrel well with good carry to the pull side. Timed up very well with an easy stroke. Sneaky power and impacts the ball on a consistent basis. Excellent hand eye and performed well in game as well. Good student. Named to the 2020 Uncommitted Main Event TP List.
