Vincent Gonzalez is a 2008 SS/3B/P with a 6'2'', 170 lb. frame from Mission Viejo, CA, who attends Mission Viejo HS. Gonzalez has a good frame that is long, lanky, and projectable. Defensively he showed good hands in game action where he made nice plays on slow rollers. He has a quick release, and solid arm strength at 82 mph. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a crouched stance. Gonzalez is an aggressive hitter who uses a toe tap trigger. He has bat speed through the hitting zone, and he keeps his hands inside the ball. He drives through the ball showing projectable power. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with arm strength. His fastball topped out at 84 mph, and he worked from 82-84 mph. He gets sinking action on the pitch. He also mixed in a 69-72 mph breaking ball.
