Scott Ellis is a 2020 RHP/OF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Newbury Park, CA who attends Thousand Oaks. Medium athletic build, lean and projectable physically. Big rocker step start, over the top arm action with a compact arm stroke, has energy and head action at release, short stride out front. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90 mph, mostly straight and worked to the arm side. Has a power breaking ball that he stays on top of well, big 11/5 shape at times, lands the curveball well. Drops his slot a bit on his change up with nice fading action and good feel for the pitch. Works quickly and ahead in the count while using all three pitches, fields his position athletically and is aggressive on the mound. Good student, no college commitment at present.
