Joseph Contreras is a 2026 SS/RHP/UT with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Alpharetta, GA who attends Blessed Trinity Catholic. Long and lean young build, very athletic and projectable look. 7.29 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, is light on his feet and has natural middle infield actions, fields the ball easily and confidently, fast and loose arm that is a weapon for him. Also worked out in the outfield and looks like a natural out there and has similar plus arm strength. Switch hitter at the plate, hits from a narrow and upright stance from both sides, better rhythm into his swing from the right side, has quick hands from a tight hand load, impacts the ball hard with gap to gap contact. Gets better extension from the left side and works up from the ground more, better power left handed. Two-way prospect on the mound. Has a free and easy arm action from a high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 88 mph with more there in the future, gets nice life both cutting and running and induced weak contact. Slider showed very nice tilting action and late bite. Son of former MLB pitcher Jose Contreras. Excellent student. Named to the National Underclass Main Event Showcase Top Prospect List.
