Evann Smith is a 2024 SS/RHP, 2B, OF with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Pacifica, CA. Medium frame with an athletic build. Primary shortstop with smooth paced, clean footwork while rounding the baseball. Funnels from a slightly deeper position and worked through exchange efficiently. Released from a lower three-quarters arm slot creating some on line carry to the bag at 66 mph. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance. Created some linear shift into contact with lower half. Displayed good hand speed through the zone while employing a line drive barrel plane. Showed good control of the barrel and created hard contact to all fields. Also pitched utilizing a smooth paced side step to medium leg lift delivery. Lands in line with front side and carries momentum to glove side at finish. Released from a higher three-quarters arm slot generating some downward plane through the zone in the mid 70's, topped at 76 mph. Also flashed a 11/6 breaking ball that showed tight spin with late, hard bite. Primarily looked to challenge hitters and induce weak contact. Good student. Named to the 2019 14U Fall West Showcase, Top Prospect List.
