Davis Newman is a 2022 1B/C with a 6-2 198 lb. frame from Woodstock, GA who attends Etowah. Large frame with a big, physical build showing strength throughout. Ran a 6.92 second sixty yard dash. Primary First Baseman, working with athleticism into the baseball. Feel for the leather present as he scooped it up. Accurate with throws as he threw it 83 mph during drills. Extra steps on throws at times but was fundamentally sound. Secondary Catcher, side saddle in the stance during drills. Reaching for the baseball at times. Gains ground on throw downs as he pulls down. Accurate around the bag as he recorded a pop time of 2.03 seconds. Right-Handed Hitter, spread out to start and slightly open with the front side. High hands as he strides out while creating separation. Shows big time bat speed as he fires the barrel through the zone while looking to do damage. Pull-side power present as he homered in games and doubled into the left-center gap. Outstanding Student. Named to East Cobb Showcase Top Prospect List.
