Ryan Ball is a 2020 SS/2B with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA who attends Trabuco Hills. Medium frame with a lean, young build. Projects for additional strength with continued maturity. Primary shortstop with deliberate footwork while working to and rounding the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling and worked through transfer with smooth paced, fluid exchanges. Released from a compact arm slot producing softer carry across the infield at 70 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Simple, repeatable hand path with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Stays balanced and repeated swing actions well while utilizing a mid field approach. Generated sharp contact to the middle of the field and pull side gap showing solid feel for the barrel. Good student as well.
