Walker Kelly is a 2008 LHP with a 6'0'', 188 lb. frame from Fort Worth, TX who attends Arlington Heights HS. He has a strong, mature build without much projection. Part of Kelly's package is his delivery; he has a multi-part delivery with lots of energy and deception, including plenty of arm wrap in back. Hitters just don't see the ball and his stuff jumps on them with power and deception. Kelly's fastball was steady at 91-93 mph with some late hop to it. He pounds the strike zone early with his fastball and hitters get bad swings against it. Kelly's 73 mph curveball gets bad swings as well and is sharp and late. It isn't a question of projection with Kelly, as he throws good strikes with plus stuff. If he stays healthy he has the present pitches to be very successful. Kelly is an outstanding student should he not be a high draft next June.
