Derek Hall is a 2020 RHP with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Owensboro, KY who attends Owensboro HS. Medium, athletic frame with slender present build. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.78 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher, long and loose arm action to three quarters slot, easy arm for the most part, generates solid extension through release, easy delivery, lands open on heel. Fastball worked 75-78 mph with short life, velocity projects, worked in curveball with 11/5 shape and very good depth. Balanced through delivery. Flashed straight change with modest feel. Good command and overall idea of pitching. Sets up to hit from upright, even stance with high hand set, rocks back slightly into load, stays online with stride and drive, middle field approach with quickness to line drive barrel plane, good repeatability to swing, worked back through the middle with consistency and developing strength. Very good student.
