Grant Strong is a 2021 OF/LHP, 1B with a 6-3 215 lb. frame from Overland Park, KS who attends Olathe East. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Primary outfielder, fields the ball out front with some bend at waist, takes longer strides moving towards the ball, longer arm action through the back working to an extended slot, shows carry out of hand, can incorporate additional lower half at release. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow pulled back in the box, gets lower half moving into swing well. Looks to incorporate strength at point of contact, quick hands and a direct path. Shows present bat speed with whip to the barrel, generates leverage out front and can implement additional lower half into swing. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to Illinois.
