Sam McIntosh is a 2018 RHP/C with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Orange Beach, AL who attends Gulf Shores HS. Big build with good present strength. Works from the stretch with an easy low effort long arm action and extended 3/4's arm slot, good extension out front on release, repeats his mechanics well. Mid-70's fastball, topped out at 77 mph, mostly straight, attacks hitters with his fastball and throws lots of fastball strikes. Sweeping slider with 10/4 shape, flashed a change up. Can work on getting more movement on his fastball to get more consistent ground ball contact. Also catches, shows some arm strength and makes accurate throws with slow step by step actions. Right handed hitter with an upper body swing and a mid field line drive approach. Good student.
