Melvin Reyes is a 2020 RHP/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Coamo, PR who attends International Baseball Academy. Medium athletic build with some present strength and room for more. Simple turn and throw delivery with a good gather over the rubber, compact arm action with a high 3/4's release point, will over stride and lose balance out front at times, arm is fast and loose. Fastball topped out at 87 mph, works low in the zone and to both sides when he's in rhythm and balance. Flashed a very good change up with nice arm speed and tunneling. Short breaking slider is effective getting off barrels. Very good athlete who runs a 6.50 sixty and should continue to improve with consistency. Very good student. Named to the Sunshine East Top Prospect List.
