Daryl Carney is a 2020 OF/RHP/2B with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Coral Springs, FL who attends Highlands Christian Academy. Tall and slender young build, very projectable physically, Right handed hitter, hits from an upright stance with a high back elbow load, gets his hands down and into hitting position well, has quick hands and creates present bat speed, pull side line drive approach, has leverage at contact and creates surprising carry to the gaps, lots of hitting tools with more bat speed to come as he gets stronger. 7.13 runner, speed plays up on the bases, gets good jumps. Athletic actions in the outfield, quick to the ball with a quick release, has easy carry on his throws. Also pitched, has smooth and easy mechanics that he repeats well,, throws all his pitches from the same release window. Fastball topped out at 85 mph with good riding action up in the zone. Showed tight spin on a sharp breaking downer curveball. Threw a swing and miss change up with late sink. Has potential on the mound as well has a position player. Excellent student. Named to the National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect List.
