Frankie Deane is a 2017 OF/C with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Dumont, NJ who attends Dumont High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill, has quick-twitch muscle. Very good runner, posted a 3.70 30-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves to the ball with shorter steps, takes extra steps prior to release and utilizes a big crow hop to gain momentum, works through the ball and shows quickness to arm, full arm stroke with lower release point. Righthanded hitter, begins with a lower hand set and low back elbow, weight starts on backside and uses a toe tap trigger for timing. Shows quickness to hands with a line drive swing plane through the zone. Contact approach at the plate, full swing path, has moving parts to swing that need to be on time, projects with additional physical strength. Very good student.
