Carson Dunlap is a 2022 IF/RHP/UT with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends Covenant Day. Medium athletic build with some present strength and room for more. 7.13 runner in the sixty, has good lateral athleticism on defense in the infield, fields the ball cleanly out front, has some raw arm strength but must improve his accuracy and consistency throwing the ball to take the next step. Left handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a late coiled load, long and loose swing, gets the barrel out well and looks to pull the ball, swings hard and can impact the ball, projects some power down the road as he gets stronger. Also pithed, has a quick arm with a high 3/4's arm slot, slow to fast delivery. Fastball topped out at 84 mph with good late heavy sinking life. Curveball had good downer spin and bite from the same arm slot, has potential on the mound. Good athlete who should continue to improve with repetitions and coaching. Very good student.
