Erik Ritchie is a 2021 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Telford, PA who attends Souderton Area. Large frame with longer limbs and an athletic build. Primary left handed pitcher with a side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall at gather and worked to the plate with tall and fall actions. Worked over front side well and maintained momentum through extension. Quick arm circle at separation and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball generated natural cut to glove side out of hand in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 80 miles per hour. Slider had 2/8 shape with tight spin and good sweep to glove side in the mid 60's. Consistently looked to locate both offering to the bottom quadrants of the zone. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth paced, deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Funnels baseball with two hands and worked through transfer with loose exchanges. Released from a three-quarters slot producing on line carry to the bag at 78 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with an upright, open stance and large leg lift trigger. Shifts into contact well with lower half. Employed a mid field approach while primarily working to the middle of the field and pull side gap. Good student as well.
