Calin Gribbin is a 2017 C/1B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Gibsonia, PA who attends Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic. Large frame with a solid, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.32 sixty yard dash. Primary catcher, shows a narrow base with a slightly higher set while receiving. Receives the baseball while with soft, strong hands. Smooth paced footwork while working out of crouch and gaining ground to bag. Compact arm action with good extension topping at 74 mph, best workout pop time of 2.13. Right handed hitter with a spread, straight stance. Creates some top half coil and wrap with top half at load producing torque. Lower half launches with rotational action to contact with occasional shift. Hands launch on a loose, extended path with a naturally leveraged plane. Some present bat speed when connecting with baseball on time out front. Good student as well.
