Kyle Gruver is a 2020 SS with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Monmouth Junction, NJ who attends South Brunswick. Medium frame with athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.54 seconds. Hits from straight stance with simple load and shift, compact direct swing, gets extended early at times, projects well with additional strength, simplicity of swing and overall approach is good. Primary infielder, hands work when out front, moves well enough laterally, clocked up to 84 mph on throws. Also threw 86 mph from the outfield. Pitched as well, works out of the stretch, compact arm stroke to three quarters slot, full effort delivery with some jarring aspects to release, fastball worked 83-86 mph and peaked at 87 mph with some arm side run, showed good bite to slider as well. Good student.
