Gray Thomas is a 2021 RHP/1B with a 6-4 205 lb. frame from Oklahoma City, OK who attends Heritage Hall. Big and strong athletic build. Tall on his backside to start his delivery, deep and long arm action in back, low 3/4's arm slot, has some energy at release. Fastball topped out at 95 mph, gets good sinking action at times from the lower slot, showed nice command of his fastball and pounded the zone aggressively. Used a mid-70's curveball as his primary breaking ball, difficult pitch to throw effectively from that arm slot, has shortness to it. Flashed a short slider/cutter to left handed hitters that showed promise. Combination of velocity, life and command of fastball makes it a potentially dominating pitch, ceiling will be determined by development of his secondary offerings. Elite level student, verbal commitment to Texas Christian. Named to play in the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
