Peter Montgomery is a 2018 RHP/3B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Brookline, MA who attends Brookline High School. Medium build and frame, square shoulders, athleticism, and room to continue to develop physically and add strength. Primary right handed pitcher, longer arm action, deep plunge in back, side step start in delivery, online landing to plate, good extension, and threw from a three quarter arm slot. Kept hitters off balanced and pitched effectively to contact, while holding velocity well from the stretch. Fastball worked 64-68 mph with sink to the lower third of the zone and ability to get them to both sides. Curveball showing 12/6 shape with depth and developing spin. Also showed a changeup with developing feel at 62 mph. Secondary third basemen, fielded flat, got to the ball well, showed decent transfer skills, and developing arm strength. At the plate, started with a narrow base, came closed well, and an active hand set. Barrel stops moving at load, attempts to create leverage with lower half, and showed a linear swing plane. Will continue to improve contact with additional lower half involvement and rhythm.
