David Eklund is a 2019 IF with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Wildwood, MO who attends Lafayette HS. Medium frame with a lean build. Primary infielder with smooth paced, deliberate footwork while working to the baseball. Funnels the baseball out front and worked through exchange with developing fluidity. Throws produced some on line carry to the bag topping at 74 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with a balanced, slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Created some linear shift into contact with lower half. Repeats path to contact well utilizing a line drive barrel plane. Produced sharp line drive, ground ball contact to the middle of the field when on time and squared. Good student as well.
