Robert Mac Sims is a 2020 RHP/MIF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Southaven, MS who attends DeSoto Central HS. Medium athletic build, plenty of room to get stronger. High leg raise delivery, arm is fast and clean coming through, mid 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 85 mph early, gets big late running action on his fastball when he doesn't overthrow it and works down in the zone, movement is impressive. Big sweeping curveball, shows foot feel for dropping it into the strike zone, effective pitch for him. Has the arm slot to add a hard slider/cutter for a different look. Threw strikes and competed well. 7.62 runner, shows good footwork and athleticism in the middle infield, gets nice carry on his throws. Left handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a high elbow load, shows some bat speed and swings hard looking to impact the ball, pull approach. Solid all around athlete who should keep improving in all areas. Very good student.
