Joe "J.C." Dyer is a 2018 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-11 142 lb. frame from Mesa, AZ who attends Desert Ridge HS. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Project for future phsyical strength. Right handed hitter with a narrow, open stance. Shows rotational lower half actions to contact with occasional shift. Hits from a taller front side with an naturally lofted swing pathe that creates solid extension through contact. Primarily uses a mid-field approach while looking to lift the baseball to the gaps. Worked out defensively from the infield showing athletic actions with smooth funneling glove skills while surrounding. Primarily used a three-quarters slot while throwing across, but flashed the ability to uses mutltiple arm slots that produce on line carry with accuracy. Also pitched showing a clean arm action from a medium arm cirlce at seperaton. Releases from a high three-quarters slot that creates occasional arm side run in the upper 70's. Lower half lands open at times but shows ability to stay on line to the plate. Curveball has slurve like shape in the upper 60's with solid spin and break. Flashed a changeup with occasional sinking actoin in the upper 60's as well. Worked the bottom of the zone with consistency, developing command on the edges of the zone. Good two-way prospect that will continue to develop with physical maturity. Good student as well.
