Leniel Samuel Colon is a 2017 C/IF with a 5-6 180 lb. frame from Arroyo, PR who attends Natividad Rodriguez Gonzalez. Compact frame, sturdy, stocky present build. Worked out exclusively behind the plate at this event. Stays low, receives the ball well. Full arm-action and transfer with arm-waggle release. Compact with lower-half, can rush a bit, popped as low as 2.00 seconds in defensive drills. Right handed hitter, slightly open stance, good weight shift into contact. Shows strength with solid bat speed in strength. Full swing, aggressive approach, has feel for using the barrel. Slightly uphill swing plane, loft off of the barrel, shows some carry and backspin. Hit the ball well in games, has solid in-game approach. Very good student.
