Jacob Acosta is a 2016 3B/MIF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Lakewood, CA who attends Lakewood. Acosta has a medium sized frame with a lean build. Defensively he sits back on the ball and showed some effort in his actions. Acosta showed arm strength up to 82 MPH from a high arm slot. He showed some lateral agility in game moving side to side well. At the plate, Acosta starts with a big leg lift and is aggressive to the baseball. He swings the bat hard and showed some bat speed. Acosta has a rotational swing and showed occasional pop. He showed occasional barrel skills and was best when his timing was synced up. Very good student.
