Javahn Devers is a 2017 RHP/ with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Quartz Hill, CA who attends Paraclete. Medium, athletic frame with solid strength throughout and very good physical projection moving forward. Primary pitcher, showed well during several-inning stint on the mound. Hands over head into delivery, arm works well with quickness and looseness up to higher three quarters slot. High leg lift with balance, gets extended well out in front and releases clean. Fastball worked 77-80 with solid running life to the arm side. Showed curveball as secondary offering, big shape with solid depth, good change-of-pace pitch that works to disrupt hitters' timing and eye level. Did very good job of throwing strikes with both pitches and working to keep hitters off balance by mixing and matching fastball and curveball. Good student.
