Aaron Foust is a 2016 LHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Auburn, WA who attends Auburn HS. Young slender frame with projection. Leg tuck with some forward lean at gather and a drifting delivery. Throws backside over with a smooth arm action. Fastball has good sink and occasional run, primarily working to arm side ranging from 75-78mph. Fastball shows best movement when over the plate and down in the strike zone. Delivery has some moving parts that hides the baseball and creates deception. Pounds to zone with the fastball and primarily pitches to contact. Showed a shorter slider with softer spin and some tilt, topped at 70 mph. Flashed one change-up at 69 mph with deceptive arm speed and fading actions. Change-up shows potential and could be mixed into the arsenal more. Has plus fastball command with the ability to keep hitters off balance when mixing pitches. Good student as well.
