Damian Delgado is a 2017 C/3B/OF with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Arleta, CA who attends Chaminade College Prep. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Right handed hitter with a slightly open stance and high hand/back elbow set. Creates good shift into contact with linear lower half actions. Primarily uses a mid-field approach with a loose, line drive swing plane. Extends through contact well flashing some jump off the barrel to the gaps. Worked out defensively from behind the plate and the outfield. From behind the plate shows a compact arm cirlce at separation with a smooth paced exchange. Gains some ground into throws while releasing from a loose arm action. Baseball comes out of hand cleanly producing some on line carry with accruacy to the bag. From the outfield shows long, athletic strides while closing on the baseball and working through transition. Smooth paced, clean glove to hand exchanges. Compact arm cirlce at separation and working through extension from a three-quarters arm slot. Throws create good on line carry to the bag with accuracy, topped at 81 mph. Good student as well.
