Blake Leadford is a 2020 LHP/OF with a 6-0 142 lb. frame from O'Fallon, MO who attends Christian Brothers College HS. Very slender young build, can get stronger but won't add much bulk to his frame. Cross body delivery, long and fast arm action, extended 3/4's arm slot, creates angle to the plate. Works two-seam/four-seam on his fastball, lots of fastball life in the low 80's, four-seamer topped out at 86 mph. Sweeping curveball gets good depth and gets hitters reaching from both sides, nice feel for his change up. Three-pitch starter who throws strikes and has the projection to continue to improve. 7.11 runner, showed his athleticism and fast arm in the outfield, arm really works well out front during outfield drills. Left handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a high hand load, uses his lower half well, has bat speed for his size and can impact the ball, pull to mid field approach. Interesting young pitching prospect to follow carefully. Good student. Named to the National Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
