Joshua Medina is a 2017 OF/1B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Chatsworth, CA who attends Chatsworth HS. Medium, broad shouldered build with present strength and some room to still fill out. Ran a 7.71 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves to the ball with shorter steps, fields out front well, crow hop to gain momentum, needs to incorporate more lower half into release, short and compact arm action with a tight release, gets on top of throws and shows some present strength. Right-handed hitter, starts with a high hand set and a square base. Small trigger to begin swing, shows rhythm and stays short and quick to the ball. Nice bat speed coming through the zone, line drive swing plane and gets the barrel to it. Creates consistent contact and shows a nice feel to use all fields, comes off barrel well when squared. Good student.
