Chase Kelley is a 2016 C/ with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from McKenzie, TN who attends McKenzie. Large, long frame with lean well-proportioned build, room to fill out. Right handed hitter, deep hand position and load, flashes good bat speed. Level, line-drive swing plane with good carry when squared, especially to the pullside. Balance, timing can vary but strength in upper body plays in swing when lower half is in sync. Primary catcher, quick feet, gains ground on throws to bases. Long arm-action to overhand slot, throws can tail when working too quickly, but shows good arm strength and popped a 2.03 on throw to second base in defensive drills. Great student.
