Charlie Taylor is a 2020 C/UT with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Dunwoody, GA who attends Wesleyan High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout frame, additional room to fill moving forward. Ran a 7.03 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, compact set up behind the plate, receives the ball out front well with softness to hands, quick transfer and release into a compact arm action with a tight release, simple and repeatable actions with quick feet coming out of crouch, gets on top of throws and shows accuracy down to second base with carry. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a toe tap for timing in the box. Full swing path but remains on time due to present bat speed, upper body dominant swing, remains balance through point of contact. Shows a handle for the barrel and can continue to implement additional lower half into swing, repeats mechanics well. Excellent student. Named to Junior National Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to Tennessee.
