Brandon Birchfield is a 2019 SS/2B with a 5-8 130 lb. frame from Eastvale, CA who attends Eleanor Roosevelt HS. Birchfield has a medium sized frame with a thin lean build. Defensively he throws with a long arm action with developing arm strength up to 74 MPH. He showed solid actions on the infield and fields out front. Birchfield has a quick release and transfers and made accurate throws. At the plate he starts with an open stance with a narrow base. He takes a big stride to start his swing and has a big weight shift to his swing. Birchfield has some hand quickness and maintained good balance throughout. He made consistent barrel contact and made good middle of the field contact. He has some slight lift to his swing and has some pop. Good student.
