Will Compton is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from San Luis Obispo, CA who attends San Luis Obispo. Medium frame with a solid, athletic build. Projects for additional strength. Ran a 7.48 sixty yard dash. Primary outfielder with deliberate, smooth actions while closing to the baseball. Solid glove skills while working through transition with clean glove to hand exchanges. Creates a deep arm stab at separation and releases from a high three-quarters arm slot. Throws produced uphill carry to the bag with accuracy, topped at 77 mph. Right handed hitter with a slightly open stance, leg lift trigger and aggresive stride. Hands start at a lower set before load. Lower half has linear actions creating good shift into contact. Loose, extended swing path to contact with an uphill plane. Attacks the baseball out front while swinging with intent to drive the baseball into the gaps. Flashes present bat speed through extension when front side trigger is on time and balanced. Also pitched showing a fluid, clean delivery with a full arm action. Stays linear while driving to the plate creating a balanced, square landing position. Releases from a high three-quarters arm slot with solid extension through finish. Fastball has occasoinal arm side run in the upper 70's, topped at 78 mph. Flashed a curveball with 11/5 shape that shows good spin and depth when down in the zone. Projects for additional velocity with future strength and arm speed. Outstanding student.
