James Rogers is a 2017 LHP/OF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Medina, OH who attends Highland HS. Medium athletic build, young with plenty of room to fill out. High 3/4's arm slot with a high and deep arm circle, shows the ball to the hitter, repeats mechanics well and stays directional. Consistent low 70's fastball, gets nice cutting action to his fastball and can spot the ball well to the glove side corner, stays low in the zone. Soft curveball spin with occasional 1/7 depth, unveiled a slider late in his outing that looked like a good pitch for him. Rare change up but it had good sink. Has the command and the pitches to fit the crafty southpaw profile as he gets stronger and gains velocity. Competed well. Very good student.
